Studi Aperti (Open Studios) - Arts Festival in the Cuore Verde tra due Laghi
Studi Aperti is a contemporary multidisciplinary festival that takes place each July in Ameno’s historical city center. Ameno is a small village situated on the hills of Lake Orta’s west bank which has recently become a cultural hub for contemporary art.
The first step in the creation of the festival as it is today dates back to 2005, when some artists who were living and working in Ameno decided to open their studios to the public. These artists include Bedoni, Enrica Borghi, Francesca Gagliardi, Angelo Molinari, Riccardo Sinigaglia, and Fausta Squatriti.
These pioneering artists starting something of a chain reaction; thanks to the patience and knowledge of its organizers, the festival has hosted more and more participants each year, including both Italian and foreign artists and involving art galleries from all over the world, expanding the festival’s horizons greatly.
Today, the Studi Aperti festival is dedicated to presenting many different forms of contemporary art and includes sections that consist of architecture, literature, film, photography, and new technologies. Since 2005 the festival has hosted hundreds of artists and tens of both public and private exhibitions.
